Mrs. Wish's Baltimore Crab Soup
Instructions:
To 1/2 gallon of very hot water, add:
- 1/2 lb stew beef, diced and browned with the bacon
- 2 beef bouillion cubes
- 1 teaspoon or salt to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon or freshly ground pepper to taste
- At least 1/2 tablespoon Old Bay, I like adding it until it burns
- Garlic powder to taste
- 3 slices of bacon, chopped
- 1 or 2 stalks celery, diced with leaves
- 1 small can of roasted garlic tomato paste
- 1 can of stewed tomatoes
Cook one hour over med-high heat in an uncovered pot. After 1 hour, add:
- 1 package of frozen mixed vegetables
- 2 large potatoes, diced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 very small cabbage, shredded
- 1/8 cup pearl barley
Cook for one hour over medium heat. After 1 hour, add:
- 1 pound of Blue Crab claw meat (pick through the container to make sure you get out all of the shells)
Heat through. Eat. Come back for more. Let me know how you like it!
