Mrs. Wish's California Crab Soup

Mrs. Wish's California Crab Soup

Mrs. Wish's Cookbook

Instructions:

To a large stockpot add and brown the bacon and stew beef.

Once the bacon and the beef are browned, add the boullion cubes, salt, pepper, Old Bay, garlic powder, water, celery, tomato paste and the stewed tomatoes. Bring to a boil and cook for one hour over med-high heat in an uncovered pot. After 1 hour, add the mixed vegetables, potatoes, onion, cabbage and barley.

Cook for one hour over medium heat. Prepare the King Crab legs in the Maryland style, by steaming them in a large pot with a large can of beer & vinegar as the steaming liquid. After dropping each leg into the steaming basket, put a generous amount of Old Bay on the leg. Steam on med-high for about 10-15 minutes. Take the legs out and let them cool enough to pick the meat out of the legs. Cut it into pieces small enough for soup.

Then after it has been an hour since you added the last ingredients to the soup, add:

  • 1 pound of chopped King Crab meat (buy enough to account for the weight of the shells)

Heat through. Eat. Come back for more. Let me know how you like it!
